Shermco is seeking a licensed Electrical Power Systems Engineer to support projects across industrial and utility clients. Based in Houston, TX, the role is hybrid with remote work after initial weeks.

This position requires a PE license, 5+ years of power systems experience, and mastery of protective relays, substation automation, and power system modeling tools. Travel to field sites will be needed.

Formación

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
PE license in any US state or ability to gain licensure elsewhere.
Minimum 5 years of power systems studies experience.
Experience with power system modeling software such as EasyPower, SKM, ETAP.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

Lead and develop junior engineering staff.
Manage and execute engineering projects for a broad range of clients and industries.
Perform power systems studies for industrial and utility sectors.
Design and integrate protective relaying systems (e.g., SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider).
Develop substation automation systems (e.g., SEL RTAC, RTU, HMI, and communication protocols).
Conduct electrical studies including short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, grounding, and harmonic analysis.
Prepare engineering drawings packages (SLDs, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams).
Design and upgrade distribution systems (MCCs, switchgear, relays, breakers, fuses, transformers).
Troubleshoot electrical systems and implement corrective solutions.
Support field commissioning and maintenance activities as needed.
Conduct on-site inspections and data collection.
Prepare engineering proposals, cost estimates, and client deliverables.
