Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Power Studies for a hybrid role in Irving, TX.

You will perform electrical design and studies for projects domestically and internationally, focusing on short-circuit and arc-flash analyses, coordination, and power quality assessments. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in SKM/ETAP/ASPEN/EZPower, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience; power systems focus preferred.
• Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies preferred.
• Experience using power system modeling software such as SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower or similar.
• Knowledge of low-, medium-, and high-voltage up to 500 kV is required.
• Clear English communication, both verbal and written, with customers and colleagues.
• Field experience with substations or switchgear is highly desirable.
• Utility design experience is a plus.
• Occasional domestic and international travel possible.

• Conduct power factor analysis, harmonic modeling and grounding analysis.
