Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a mid‑career engineer for the Lunar Permanence vehicle’s electrical power subsystem. You will own hardware for solar arrays, batteries, and power distribution, while designing, testing, and integrating interfaces with GNC, C&DH, propulsion and mechanics.

You will lead development and verification work in labs and flight environments, mentor teams, and ensure safe, cost‑effective power solutions for lunar missions. WA-based relocation may be provided.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 5+ years in engineering operations with power systems.
  • Experience with analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit analysis and layout.
  • Familiarity with power systems components like photovoltaics and batteries.
  • Avionics hardware design, assembly, and integration experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical authority for power subsystem hardware at the assembly level.
  • Develop requirements and verification plans for avionics subsystems.
  • Design, test, and integrate power hardware with other vehicle subsystems.
  • Coordinate with internal/external developers on interfaces and schedules.
  • Support long-lead hardware identification and procurement planning.
  • Perform risk analyses including FMECA and DFx; root-cause test discrepancies.
  • Ensure design, manufacture, procurement, testing, qualification, and delivery efficiency.
