Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead utility-scale power generation projects, including natural gas and potentially renewables, serving as Owner’s Engineer or Advisor.

The role demands senior design leadership and mentoring of engineers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control, and is proficient with industry tools.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in electrical power generation design.
• Experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• ABET‑accredited degree with Electrical Power emphasis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams for power generation design projects.
• Support in Owner’s Engineer role and client relationships.
• Prepare proposals, fee builds and WBS for proposals.
• Mentor young engineers.
