Job summary

HDR, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead generation design projects, often in a traditional Owner's Engineering role. Strong leadership, power systems knowledge and client relationship skills are essential for success.

The role includes mentoring staff, supporting proposals, and coordinating with project teams; travel is limited to about 10% and locations include Ann Arbor and other sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
• Professional Engineers license (PE).
• Extensive experience in electrical power generation design and project delivery.
• Strong communication, leadership and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on power generation design projects, including Owner's Engineer responsibilities.
• Mentor engineers, manage client relationships and contribute to proposals and fee sheets.
• Direct design of power plant systems, grounding, protection and control schemes.
• Collaborate with Project Manager on reviews and work breakdown structures.
• Travel up to 10% for client meetings and site visits.
