Job summary

Sterling St James Inc. is seeking an Electrical Power Design Engineer in Stafford, TX to lead the development of load studies, construction packages, and specifications for power systems.

Responsibilities include field verifications, FAT, startup, and commissioning support, with travel up to 25%. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, extensive NEC/IEEE/API knowledge, and proficiency in AutoCAD and power system modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with NEC and electrical design standards preferred.
• Proven ability to develop PE-stamped construction packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical power load studies.
• Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power construction packages stamped by a PE.
• Lead development of electrical power specifications for construction packages.
• Prepare bills of materials and coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Perform field verification walkdowns of electrical and E&I infrastructure.
• Execute factory acceptance testing on electrical power equipment.
• Support startup and commissioning of power systems.
• Provide after-hours support to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure quality and budget adherence.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and proposals for new opportunities.
• Travel up to ±25%.
