Job summary

Met Weld International, Altamont, NY, is seeking a Senior Electrical Assembler to lay out, wire, and test complex electrical control systems and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies on the production floor. You will interpret schematics, assemble panels, terminate wiring, and verify integrity with multimeters, while guiding junior assemblers and promoting Lean and 5S improvements for quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years of electrical assembly in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and safety standards.
• Proficient with hand, power, crimping and soldering tools.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
• Read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Route, strip, crimp, and terminate wires to connect PLCs, relays, and switches.
• Drill, tap, and mount hardware including breakers, transformers, and power supplies.
• Conduct continuity, voltage, and insulation testing; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Provide technical guidance and train junior and apprentice assemblers.
