Met Weld International in Altamont, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Assembler to lay out, build, wire, and test intricate control systems and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies. The role requires reading complex blueprints and schematics, installing components, performing rigorous testing, diagnosing issues, and mentoring junior assemblers while supporting Lean and 5S on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical school certificate or an Associate degree in Electrical Technology or Electronics is highly preferred.
• Experience interfacing with ISO9001, NQA-1 or AS9100 quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
• Read and translate complex electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Route, strip, crimp, and solder wires to connect components like PLCs, relays and switches.
• Install hardware including circuit breakers, transformers and power supplies.
• Conduct continuity, voltage and insulation testing using meters and diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose complex electrical malfunctions and apply corrective actions.
• Inspect finished assemblies against standards to ensure safety compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and train junior apprentices on the line.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve workflow.
• Maintain safe work practices and identify hazards on the shop floor.
