Bala Consulting Engineers is a multi-office engineering firm seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Arlington, VA office to design electrical power distribution and life-safety systems across sectors.

You will perform on-site surveys, develop calculations, coordinate with other disciplines, attend meetings, and contribute to reports and cost estimates. We offer a rich benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electrical power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial/healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, interior/exterior lighting, and photometrics.
• PE preferred; EIT certification required; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit in a formal design context (1+ year).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Senior Electrical Engineer for our Arlington, VA office supporting the function enterprise-wide.

• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.

The requirements for this position include:

• 10+ years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Background in commercial and healthcare facilities strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
• PE Preferred. EIT certification required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.
• General understanding of Microsoft Office.
