Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Electrical or Mechanical Inspector for our Transportation Group in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will inspect electrical or mechanical systems for transit facilities and public infrastructure projects in Connecticut or New England.

Responsibilities include field inspections from installation through commissioning, reviewing submittals and RFIs, documenting activities, and supporting field teams to ensure compliance with contract documents and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in construction engineering and inspection.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical building and infrastructure systems.
• Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes and documentation.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering calculations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections from installation through commissioning to verify compliance with plans, specs, and codes.
• Document construction activities and maintain daily inspection reports and project records.
• Review submittals, RFIs, work plans, test reports, and as-builds.
• Support field inspection teams with technical assistance and issue resolution.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to ensure project success.
