Job summary
South32 is seeking a Superintendent Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance at the Hermosa project site near Patagonia, Arizona. This leadership role oversees electrical, instrumentation, and automation maintenance across fixed plant and mobile fleet operations to ensure safety, reliability and production readiness.

Qualifications
- Electrical or Instrumentation Trade Qualification.
- Electrical License or equivalent statutory qualification.
- 8+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial operations.
- 3+ years in a supervisory, superintendent, or equivalent E&I leadership role.
- Extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of mobile fleet electrical systems and onboard automation
- Demonstrated experience maintaining plant automation, PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation systems
- Experience supporting commissioning and operational readiness activities
- Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP PM)
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement capability
- Additional automation or control system training preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide health, safety & environment leadership across all E&I activities.
- Lead electrical & instrumentation maintenance for fixed plant, infrastructure, and mobile equipment.
- Maintain asset availability and reliability through defect management and timely maintenance.
- Coordinate between mobile fleet and fixed plant E&I activities.
- Own maintenance execution for mobile fleet electrical systems and onboard controls.
- Support commissioning, ramp up, and lifecycle management of automation systems.
- Lead planning with Scheduling to develop executable work plans and schedules.
- Monitor KPIs for safety, availability, reliability, and cost.
- Foster development of E&I supervisors, trades, and technicians.
