Job summary

Plug Power is hiring a Sr. Electrical & Instrument Technician to coordinate installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical/instrument systems at the Woodbine hydrogen plant.

The role requires strong I&E aptitude, MV/LV knowledge, and the ability to respond to urgent needs to keep the plant running around the clock. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in industrial electrical/controls, an associate degree or related training, and experience with DCS/PLC, NEC/NFPA 70E

Qualifications

• Five+ years in industrial electrical/controls field.
• Associate or vocational degree in electrical engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and high quality output.
• Ability to read schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Experience with test equipment and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
• Preferred: industrial DCS/PLC experience; NFPA 70E training; HV safety training.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain instrumentation and electrical equipment per procedures and regulatory requirements (NEC, NFPA 70E).
• Lead preventive/corrective maintenance with engineering/reliability resources.
• Troubleshoot and repair low/MV electrical systems (480VAC and below; 34.5 kV/4160 VAC as applicable).
• Monitor and coordinate with contractors and OEM vendors during maintenance.
• EnterWork orders and Planned Maintenance in CMMS (Maximo, Emaint, SAP).
• Travel 0–20% for outages or commissioning activities.
