Det-Tronics, a global leader in life safety technology, seeks a Principal Electrical Design Engineer in Minneapolis, MN. You will lead hardware development across product lifecycles, driving architecture, validation, and cross-functional collaboration with firmware teams to ensure robust, EMC-compliant designs.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical design, MCU experience, and prior market-launch success, with a focus on mixed-signal PCBA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

At least 10+ years of professional work experience.
Experience leading hardware development through a product launch.
Proven expertise in mixed-signal PCBA design.
MCU experience required for embedded hardware.

Responsibilities

Lead hardware strategy, architecture, and definitions with focus on reliability and safety.
Provide technical leadership to electrical engineering teams on projects.
Develop requirements for subsystems aligned with standards and customer needs.
Collaborate with firmware engineers for hardware/firmware integration and tests.
Manage design verification, risk analyses, and DFMEA activities.
