Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our high-speed digital circuit design team in Roseville, CA. You will own complex hardware designs, drive signal and power integrity, and mentor junior engineers, with work deployed at global scale.

This onsite role offers leadership across cross-functional teams and opportunities to influence architecture and design methodologies within HPE Networking's fast-growing portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in complex hardware design.
• Deep expertise in digital and analog circuit design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience with high-speed design and signal integrity challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own complex hardware designs, including component selection, schematic capture, board-level architecture, bring-up, debug, and validation.
• Drive high-speed digital design decisions, addressing signal integrity, power distribution, and system-level performance trade-offs.
• Partner with cross-functional and multi-site teams—including layout, validation, manufacturing, and firmware—to deliver production-ready designs.
• Influence design feasibility, margins, and reliability through upfront analysis and hands-on validation.
• Perform root-cause analysis and empirical testing, setting technical direction and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies.
