Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a Senior Project Electrical Engineer to lead forensic investigations of electrical incidents and failures. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to determine root causes of events, assess equipment and maintenance practices, and support clients in legal and insurance matters.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and a PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering field.
PE license in state of employment or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Willingness to travel to client sites (25–30%).

Responsibilities

Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings; determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures.
Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations; collaborate on large, complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; prepare reports and letters detailing causes of damage for clients.
Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases to testify about damages and professional liability.
