Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a Senior Project Electrical Engineer to lead forensic investigations of electrical incidents and failures. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to determine root causes of events, assess equipment and maintenance practices, and support clients in legal and insurance matters.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and a PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering field.
• PE license in state of employment or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (25–30%).

Responsibilities

• Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings; determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures.
• Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations; collaborate on large, complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; prepare reports and letters detailing causes of damage for clients.
• Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases to testify about damages and professional liability.

Asa SeniorProjectElectrical Engineerat Envista Forensics, you will play a crucial role in conducting forensic investigations related to electricalincidents and failures. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts to determine origin and root causes of accidents, equipment malfunctions, product defects, and other mechanical failurerelated issues. Your findings will be essential in helping our clients make informed decisions and resolving complex legal and insurance matters.

Essentialexpertiseto ensure success:

• PE in state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
• Willingness to travel to clients’sites(25-30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmentalconditions.

Elevatedexpertisetoexcel/stand-out:

• Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus.
• 5years’ experience evaluatingelectricalfailures in a commercialorindustrial settingpreferred.
• Power systems experience (generators,transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; Electro-mechanical experience isdesirable.
• Experienced working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred.
