Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to oversee all electrical activities on the Thacker Pass project. You will provide technical direction to the direct hire and subcontractor workforce and supervise the electrical scope across the site.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with 10–13 years of relevant experience (or 14–17 years equivalent). Familiarity with mining projects and industry codes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a university/B.S degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–13 years of relevant experience is desired, or 14–17 years of equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with the company direct hire craft is preferred.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards is preferred.
• Experience in mining and metals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must have experience with construction in all areas of electrical construction.
• Coordinate with supervision the work schedule and any material deliveries required.
• Complete training requirements assigned.
• Preparation of electrical work packages.
• Inspection of field installations and completion of associated documentation.
• Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting for all electrical quantities.
• Prepare field change documentation and as-built documentation as required.
• Interface with engineering office to resolve design and constructability issues.
• Assist superintendents and subcontractors in constructability and quality issues.
• Work with the suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
• Prepare material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings.
• Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure the delivery of vendor materials to support the projects schedule.
• Interpret design drawings.
• Complete material take-offs.
• Assur that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.
• Material receipt inspections as required.
• Reviews specifications, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data.
• Assist with preparation of construction estimates.
• Recommend design or installation improvements to improve safety on the project.
