Job summary

B&D Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead and support the central estimating function.

The role requires advanced electrical estimating knowledge, detail orientation, and strategic planning to forecast costs, labor, materials, and schedules from concept to handoff. The Senior Estimator will mentor estimators, manage estimating software and cost data, and collaborate with management, operations, and preconstruction to improve standards, processes, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience.
• Extensive electrical estimating experience and advanced estimating knowledge.
• Experience using Accubid estimating software is required.
• In lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered.
• Field experience with healthcare, institutional, data center, hospitality, or other complex projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, develop, train, and mentor Estimators, Interns, and personnel assigned to the central estimating team, including guidance on tactics, software, documentation, and procedures.
• Review plans, specs, addenda, bid documents, schedules, contracts, and scopes; identify risks and value-engineering opportunities.
• Supervise and prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, controls, and site electrical systems with complete pricing.
• Prepare and manage conceptual budgets, negotiated estimates, design-build estimates, and competitive bids from pursuit through design phase.
• Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations; review proposals to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Serve as bid captain when assigned and participate in estimate reviews, pricing validation, and final pricing decisions.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Operations, Preconstruction, and other stakeholders to support timely estimates and informed decisions.
• Review contracts and scopes with Project Managers and others as applicable.
• Provide complete project turnover after award with scope, assumptions, pricing, and risks.
