Job summary

IB Abel is seeking an Electrical Estimator for its Substation Services division to analyze blueprints, specs, and quotes to prepare comprehensive bids. The role requires reviewing contracts, vendor quotes, and project scopes to ensure accurate cost estimation and timely bid delivery.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in electrical construction estimating, proficiency with ACCUBID and MS Office, and the ability to collaborate with PM teams across site and offsite locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar preferred.
• Five+ years of related experience in Electric construction estimating.
• Experience in Electric Utility industry estimating.
• Proficient with MS Office applications and Accubid Estimating Software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera is a plus.
• Local to Pennsylvania with some travel; potential for home-friendly arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, quotes and documents to prepare accurate bid submissions.
• Obtain vendor/subcontractor quotes and perform material take-offs; support bid pricing and reviews.
• Review contracts, POs and scope to ensure alignment with estimates; identify change order potential.
• Assist project teams at startup and participate in pre-construction meetings to communicate cost basis.
