Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Construction Estimator to join our preconstruction team in the Tampa Bay area. You will develop accurate, competitive estimates for electrical construction projects from concept through final bid submission.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and codes; you will interpret documents, identify risks, and collaborate with PMs, engineers, GC, subs, and clients to ensure accurate

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction estimating.
• Experience with projects valued at $15 million or more.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labor productivity, installation methods, and sequencing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, equipment, materials, and labor.
• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or other electrical construction projects.
• Solicit, analyze, and level pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Prepare bid proposals, scope letters, clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions.
• Identify gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential risks within construction documents.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and project scope reviews.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, operations, and business development teams.
• Develop value-engineering options to improve competitiveness and cost efficiency.
• Understand schedule impacts on project costs; prepare estimates at design stages.
• Support post-bid reviews and turnover meetings.
