Five Star Electric Corp. in New York, NY seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead detailed estimates for large electrical construction projects.

You will review plans, perform quantity take-offs, solicit subcontractor quotes, and develop comprehensive cost estimates with a focus on accuracy and value engineering. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, familiarity with Accubid/ConEst, and strong leadership abilities for mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with an electrical contractor.
Proficiency in estimating software (Accubid, ConEst or similar).
Knowledge of BIM and digital takeoff tools.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of detailed electrical estimates for large and complex projects.
Review plans, specs, and related documents to determine scope and requirements.
Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, LV, etc.).
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Develop labor, material, and equipment cost estimates.
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies.
Prepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients during preconstruction.
Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools.
Support project handoff to operations after award.
Mentor and train junior estimating staff.
