Job summary

Royal Electric is seeking a Sr. Estimator - Building Group for our Sacramento, CA office. The role involves reading plans, preparing bids, and analyzing data to reduce gaps between estimates and actual costs.

You will lead takeoffs, manage subcontractor outreach, and collaborate with vendors and owners to deliver accurate, competitive bids. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of related experience, with comfort on Commercial/Residential projects and Public Works bids.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Commercial/Residential projects
• Experience bidding Public Works projects
• Alternative Delivery method experience

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, etc. to complete checklists/spreadsheets for a project.
• Review takeoff process with Jr Estimator and ensure checklists/spreadsheets are created.
• Create BOMs from counts/quantities for RFQ.
• Enter counts/quantities into estimating software.
• Review RFQs from vendors/subcontractors for scope discrepancies.
• Manage subcontractor outreach with good faith efforts.
• Represent Royal Electric in meetings with vendors/GCs/owners/subcontractors.
• Review RFIs from Jr Estimator.
• Prepare and organize bid packages.
• File management throughout estimates/bids.
• Assist with final bid review and hand-off to PM team.
