Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Higher education in Architectural Technology (or related) OR equivalent experience preferred.
• 8+ years experience in electrical construction estimating.
• Exposure to or experience working with estimating software required.
• Knowledge of electrical construction preferred.
• Ability to read and understand various construction documents proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Collect, calculate, and compile data for bid proposals, including labor, materials, and project timelines.
• Independently prepare routine and complex electrical estimates.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine full scope of work.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare complete electrical estimates for projects.
• Design and calculate services, feeders, and branch circuits for design-build estimates.
• Prepare and present detailed estimate breakdown to Project Managers and leaders.
• Submit final bids with supporting documentation for executive and branch-level review.
• Maintain current pricing databases using direct vendor communications, catalogs, and price lists.
• Update estimate files, drawing logs, and cost data to reflect market conditions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency through value engineering.
• Improve estimating workflows, systems, and processes.
• Guide portions of estimating effort and mentor junior estimators.
