Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a well-established local electrical contractor serving Chicago’s commercial and industrial sectors. The role focuses on independently managing estimates, reviewing plans, and developing competitive bids to win local work.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of electrical estimating experience, deep knowledge of local market pricing, and proficiency with estimation software such as Accubid, ConEst, or McCormick.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Strong commercial and/or industrial electrical construction background.
• Ability to independently estimate projects from plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labor, and installation methods.
• Experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of local electrical construction and pricing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates for local commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
• Complete detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
• Develop bid strategies and final proposals.
• Work closely with Project Management, Operations, and company leadership.
• Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines.
• Assist with project turnover after successful bids.
