About the Role:
As a Senior Estimator you will oversee a complete estimate from start to finish including assigning portions of an estimate to Junior Estimators, interacting with Group Managers, Project Managers, and other office personnel. Additionally, a Senior Estimator should be able to develop recap sheets, scope letters, and complete required RFP response to projects. Other Senior Estimator duties should include assisting in the development of Junior Estimators estimating, provide constructability input as necessary on projects and have knowledge of conceptual estimates.

In this Role You Will:

• Manage the entire estimate for a bid submission preparation while taking on other critical duties.
• Assist in the development of Junior Estimators answer questions, help make decisions, and provide support as required.
• Communicate with the customers, engineers, and other team members to clarify scope and any other issues related to the estimate. Cultivate & maintain relationships with customers to promote return business.
• Support Operations with specific work breakdowns, estimate hours, large change requests, and scope inclusions as it relates to an estimate.
• Write estimate specific scope letters of inclusions and exclusions to better clarify an electrical proposal.
• Proficient in Accubid or similar estimating software to properly complete the take-off and quantification process.
• Process purchase inquiries, tabulating and analyzing quotations as to price, terms, delivery, and general conformity with requirements of the inquiry and specifications.
• Actively promote and strive to ensure the success of Total Quality Management. Review vendor and sub-contractor pricing to ensure the pricing is correct and represents the scope called for.
• Provide cost analysis and review for multiple types of projects.
• Develop Recapitulation Sheets (Recap sheet) to arrive at a final price for each estimate. Understand building crews based on overtime requirements, scheduling, equipment deliveries, etc.
• Understand equipment and schedule impacts on projects.
• Coordinate and run Risk Reviews to assure upper management that all factors have been considered during the estimating process.
• Understand multiple types of construction and how they affect an estimate and advise on constructability methods for the betterment of a project.
• Recognize cost savings opportunities and not compromise the integrity of a project.

Education/Experience:

• 5+ years of electrical estimating industry knowledge
• Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Accubid, and are savvy enough to pick up new web applications quickly
• Strong interpersonal, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• Strong internal and external communication skills including verbal, written, presentational, and active listening
• A positive attitude! You are self-sufficient, but can also work well as part of a team
• A High School Diploma or equivalent

• Electrical Engineering or Construction Management Degree
• Electrical Apprenticeship Training
• National Electrical Contractors Association Estimating (NECA) Estimating Courses
