Job summary

Mission Critical Group is seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering in the United States to lead a team of electrical engineers and designers in designing, developing, and implementing robust electrical systems for mission-critical environments.

You will oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience in Marine, Heavy Industrial, and/or Oil & Gas industries.
• 5 years of electro-mechanical power system design, including low voltage, medium voltage, power distribution and controls, and motor control centers.
• 2 years of experience leading and managing an engineering team.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools: Pro/E Wildfire, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledgeable of UL Standards (UL-1558, UL-891, UL-67, UL-508, UL-845 and UL-DLAH).

Responsibilities

• Assist Electrical Engineers and Designers in developing and adhering to design techniques and processes to boost project efficiency.
• Lead subject matter expert for Electrical Engineering consultative services, focusing on material selection and design concepts that maintain product integrity and comply with industry standards.
• Maintain internal department processes and provide expertise to aid team development and optimize capabilities.
• Improve reputation and sustainability by reducing costs and enhancing quality through management and improvement of Electrical Engineering processes.
• Identify and implement advanced tools within engineering and manufacturing departments to increase efficiency and quality.
• Manage Electrical Engineering manpower, resources, and Tools to meet clients' technical and scheduling needs.
• Coordinate with Estimating Department to ensure accurate quotes and collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to monitor project progress and efficiency.
• Recommend budget expenditures and appropriations for R&D, focusing on product simplification and standardization, cost reduction, and process improvement.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering and Building Design Departments to share technical details, develop finalized designs, and ensure detailed and compliant designs are provided to clients and manufacturing.
