Job summary

Capella Space is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer Manager to lead a distributed team of electrical engineers responsible for the design, development, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems. You will guide hardware development from concept to flight, ensure schedule, cost, and risk targets are met, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with analog and digital electronics, PCB design (Altium), and high-reliability aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Strong technical communication in a highly collaborative environment.
• Experience in aerospace systems or similar high-reliability industries.
• Minimum 12 years designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex boards.
• 4 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proficiency with I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
• PCB schematic capture and layout experience; Altium preferred.
• Familiarity with PLM tools and revision control.
• Extensive use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and test chambers.
• ITAR compliance: U.S. citizen or eligible for authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of electrical engineers.
• Oversee design, development, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems.
• Allocate resources to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and QA procedures.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical integration and troubleshooting.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
