Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems seeks a Space Electrical Chief Engineer to lead design, integration, and verification of spaceborne electrical and avionics systems. You will define system-level electrical requirements and guide cross-functional teams to ensure mission success.

Responsibilities include leading architecture, requirements, design reviews, and I&T strategies, while interfacing with customers and management to achieve program objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design and integration of spacecraft electrical/avionics systems.
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft power architectures and data handling.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for spacecraft electrical/avionics systems across programs.
• Define spacecraft electrical architecture including power generation and distribution.
• Develop system and subsystem requirements with traceability to specs.
• Provide guidance to electrical, power, avionics, FPGA/ASIC teams; review design artifacts.
• Lead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR) with internal/external stakeholders.
• Define I&T strategies including functional testing, HIL, environmental tests.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, RF, and mission assurance teams.
• Contribute to proposals and basis of estimates; support new business capture.
