Job summary

Knightscope, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electrical design across hardware programs, from prototyping to production readiness.

You will lead system design, battery selection, harnessing, and integration across CPU, GPU, and compute modules, working with mechanical, software, and systems engineers on fast-paced product development. This senior role demands hands-on prototyping, independent decision-making, and the ability to drive cross-functional tradeoffs in wearable

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product development with ownership of electromechanical hardware programs.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through production with minimal supervision.
• Wearables or body-worn systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive electrical design and integration across hardware programs through all development phases.
• Evaluate components and compute modules across multiple form factors.
• Assess CPU/GPU performance for video systems and compute-module architecture.
• Define power requirements and design a battery/harness strategy.
• Troubleshoot at system, PCB, and component levels and drive cross-functional tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams to meet milestones.
• Support test plans, fixtures, and validation for reliability.
• Coordinate with external partners for design and manufacturing.
