Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical guidance across project phases at the Safford mine in Arizona. You will develop advanced electrical projects to improve safety, efficiency, cost controls, and environmental protection.

This role requires SME experience in site planning, contracts, and cross-functional collaboration. We value candidates with PE or advanced degrees and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Experience with electronics, PLCs, radio communications and control systems.
• Ability to analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for Electrical Engineering projects across all phases.
• Develop projects using new technology to improve site safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
• Review, investigate and recommend actions for engineering projects.
• Manage maintenance and projects; act as SME on site planning, construction or modifications.
• Advise site management on processes, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to site budgeting and strategic planning for engineering areas.
• Develop and evaluate AFEs for capital funding requests.
• May oversee contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Represent the site on company steering committees or task forces.
