Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to oversee electrical design and field execution on power and SCADA projects in the Washington, DC area. You will lead design efforts, develop calculations, drawings and specifications, and ensure conformance with plans, codes and safety requirements.

This role requires ten years of electrical engineering and construction experience, with substantial SCADA and transit expertise, strong Autodesk proficiency, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years construction/electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years SCADA design, and 2 of 10 years in transit.
• SCADA experience in heavy rail transit systems and AC Room Passenger stations.
• Experience with Autodesk software suite.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft 365.
• Hands-on field inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, construction schedules, and PMP to guide project team.
• Provide electrical engineering support to client’s project implementation team.
• Offer expertise on scope, cost estimates, schedules, changes, and commissioning.
• Coordinate engineering with plans and specs.
• Document processes to meet client procedures and project requirements.
• Evaluate design and construction risks and propose alternatives.
• Assist in final decision documentation for the COTR.
• Review payment requests and project costs and advise.
• Report project status to internal stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
