Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead power and motion control system design for robotic platforms. You will drive architecture, PCB development, battery systems, and high-performance power delivery for real-time workloads.

Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to ensure EMI/EMC, thermal management, and low-latency communication across actuators, sensors, and compute nodes.

Qualifications

• Experience creating functional specs, design verification plans & test procedures.
• PCB design and layout for high-power, signal integrity & thermal constraints.
• Experience with Li-ion battery systems, BMS hardware/software, & power distribution architectures.
• Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes, power analyzers & motor test benches.
• Proficiency with embedded interfaces (FDCAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, USB) and STM32 MCUs.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation & standards for robotics/industrial systems.
• Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or real-time electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, layout, and validation of PCBs for power distribution, motor drivers, embedded systems, and sensor integration.
• Architect and optimize power distribution and battery system for high-performance robots.
• Develop and refine lithium-ion battery systems and BMS integration.
• Develop high-efficiency system power architecture and power monitoring circuitry.
• Ensure EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and thermal design best practices for compact mobile systems.
• Collaborate with firmware on real-time control strategies for smooth motion.
• Work with mechanical engineers on thermal management for batteries, high-power electronics, and motors.
• Define electrical architecture for real-time control, networking, and system diagnostics.
• Support bring-up, debugging, testing of prototype robots with firmware & mechanical teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers and CM to source components and production of electronics subsystems.
• Mentor junior engineers, drive design reviews, and define best practices.
