Job summary

Hernshead Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of complex electrical systems for advanced sensing and counter-UAS platforms. The role focuses on high-speed digital, RF and mixed-signal circuit design from concept to production.

You will design boards and architectures, lead FPGA-based hardware development, and collaborate across firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to bring designs into production.

Qualifications

• Senior-level circuit design and simulation experience.
• FPGA-based systems and high-speed digital design experience.
• Mixed-signal PCB design combining RF and high-frequency digital electronics.
• Experience with Software Defined Radio is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium/Allegro/Cadence).
• Experience in defence, aerospace, wireless, robotics or other complex hardware environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design complex high-speed digital, RF and mixed-signal circuits and PCB architectures.
• Lead FPGA, processor and DDR-based hardware development.
• Develop board stack-ups integrating high-frequency RF and digital components.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, system integration and verification.
• Conduct signal integrity, power integrity and EMI/EMC analysis.
• Work with firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to take designs into production.
