Job summary

Knowmadics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to advance AI-enabled hardware and sensor platforms for cUAS and multi-sensor systems. You will design high-speed digital and RF-supporting electronics, integrate embedded processors, transceivers, clocks, and power systems, and guide hardware from concept to prototype and field validation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in high-speed digital, mixed-signal, or RF hardware design.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout experience; Altium preferred.
• Ability to design for FPGA/SoC integration and PCIe interfaces.
• Strong debugging, bring-up, and test-methodology skills.
• DoD clearance eligibility or active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design high-speed digital and mixed-domain PCBs for RF and multi-sensor platforms.
• Architect hardware around FPGAs/SoCs, RF transceivers, ADCs/DACs, memory, clocks, and interconnects.
• Create schematics, BOMs, layout constraints, and release packages (Altium).
• Support PCIe, USB, Ethernet, SFP/QSFP28, JESD204, I2C, RS-422 interfaces.
• Develop clocking, reset, and power sequencing for coherent sensors and data paths.
• Collaborate with FPGA and embedded software teams to define clean interfaces and bring-up paths.
• Collaborate with RF engineers on mixed-domain partitioning, layout, and EMI/EMC concerns.
• Bring up new boards using oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, VNA, and other lab tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and system-level issues through prototypes to field testing.
• Iterate designs based on test results, manufacturing feedback, and field observations.
• Support design reviews, DFM/DFT, vendor coordination, and transition to reusable platforms.
• Maintain clear schematics, layouts, test plans, and validation results.
