Job summary

Amrize seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical scope of a large-scale plant project in North America. You’ll review designs, supervise on-site electrical work, and ensure code compliance across NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years electrical/controls engineering or plant manufacturing experience in heavy industrial or large-scale capital projects.
• Experience managing electrical contractors from rough-in to energization and startup.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E; site safety and LOTO.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites and project location in Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and approve electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications for medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Direct on-site electrical contractors to ensure install aligns with designs, schedules, and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and plant safety requirements.
• Manage electrical scopes using project tools (e.g., Procore) for submittals, RFIs, and field updates.
• Develop field inspection protocols, testing programs, and commissioning procedures for main electrical equipment.
• Serve as liaison between project managers, EPC partners, vendors, and inspectors.
• Design and layout plant electrical infrastructure including substations and emergency power systems.
• Create plant process control schemes (PLC/SCADA) and network architectures.
• Lead FAT/SAT testing, and operator training on equipment and processes.
