Job summary
Core Group Resources is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering on capital and maintenance projects at a refinery and chemical facility. This on-site role covers design through installation, commissioning and startup, partnering with operations, project managers, contractors, and vendors to deliver safe, reliable power systems.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 10+ years of refinery/chemical plant experience, and hands-on 69 kV,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical distribution for refineries/chemical plants.
- Hands-on with 69 kV, 12.47 kV, 4.16 kV and 480 V systems.
- Knowledge of hazard area classification and related standards.
- Familiarity with NFPA/IEEE/NEMA/UL/API guidelines and safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical scope from concept through closeout on assigned projects.
- Engineer power distribution for refinery/chemical plant applications.
- Direct substation design and pre-engineered electrical buildings.
- Develop protection/relay schemes and oversee installation.
- Oversee MV/LV equipment installation and commissioning activities.
- Lead start-up, troubleshooting and plant-wide electrical tests.
- Ensure proper grounding, arc flash analysis, and equipment coordination.
- Review design docs, data sheets, and vendor submittals for constructability.
- Support operations with lockout/tagout and safe work practices.
