Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to lead electrical design for municipal water/wastewater and industrial facilities, guiding projects from concept through construction.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and strong client relationships, with on-site responsibilities in Atlanta, GA. The candidate should have 5+ years in related fields, an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree, and preferably a PE license, with robust knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in municipal water/wastewater and/or industrial facilities.
• PE license preferred, or ability to obtain within two years.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, and applicable electrical standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and industrial facilities.
• Develop conceptual electrical designs and provide technical leadership through all project phases.
• Design electrical power distribution systems including LV/MV, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, standby power, VFDs, lighting, grounding, and site systems.
• Lead instrumentation and control design (PLC, SCADA, networking, industrial automation).
• Manage electrical projects including planning, scheduling, budgets, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Serve as primary technical contact with clients, utilities, vendors, and regulators.
• Mentor engineers and designers; review deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate equipment selection, RFIs, shop drawings, commissioning, and startup.
• Support proposals, conceptual studies, and business development.
