Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical projects for municipal facilities.

You will supervise staff, review designs, coordinate with consultants and regulatory agencies, and ensure compliance with codes while delivering cost-effective, reliable electrical systems for water and wastewater infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Four (4) years of professional engineering experience in industrial facility systems.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Engineer.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex electrical engineering projects and execute programs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Design utility-related facilities, collect data, and perform cost/efficiency analyses.
• Monitor project progress, funding, and approve payments to consultants/contractors.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, City departments, and internal teams.
• Perform construction inspections and commissioning of facilities.
• Review submittals and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Prepare and deliver project reports and recommendations.
