Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC in Alamo, Tennessee, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop, introduce, and apply engineering knowledge to support transformer power components. The role involves hands‑on tasks and coordinating with stakeholders to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include leading engineering analyses, creating drawings, specs, and BOMs, as well as collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enhance product design and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5 to 7+ years of experience or equivalent demonstration of accomplishments.
• Strong understanding of dielectrics, thermal behavior, electrical stress, and mechanical strength of assemblies.
• Experience with electromechanical product development, especially power transformer components.
• Design experience including electrical components, wiring schematics, configurations, manufacturing, testing.
• Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling experience preferred; Windchill or PLM experience desirable.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and evaluate systems to create drawings and BOMs.
• Prepare specifications and proposals based on customer requirements.
• Act as principal investigator or lead engineers on projects, reporting findings.
• Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products.
• Collaborate in meetings to resolve technical issues and plan actions.
• Interact with internal and external customers to drive issues to resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product design and performance.
