Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Cleveland, OH for a contract-to-hire role. You will design and specify electrical systems, perform power and control system modeling, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards.

The candidate will use AutoCAD and have knowledge of Revit or BIM software, with experience in SKM/ETAP and photometric calculations (AGI32). Strong communication and multi-project management are essential.

Qualifications

Accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer license preferred.
10+ years in electrical systems design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM knowledge.
Experience with SKM and/or ETAP.
Strong NFPA knowledge.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
Excellent communication skills.
MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems using single line and schematic diagrams, P&IDs, and NFPA standards.
Specify power distribution hardware.
Model power systems; control interfacing.
Use AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM.
Perform photometric calculations (AGI32).
Conduct short circuit analyses, arc flash studies, voltage drop calculations.
Size cables, conduits, and trays.
Design lighting, grounding, and protection per NFPA.
Design low voltage telecom/data/security per BICSI guidelines.
Implement sustainable/energy-efficient designs per IECC and USGBC.
Design heat trace systems; understand utility interfaces.
Manage resources; delegate CAD work to designers.
Communicate with team and clients.
Plan and organize projects.
