Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design electrical controls and power distribution for our manufactured products. You will ensure builds meet engineering specs and applicable standards (UL, NEC) across complex, high‑risk solutions.

You will develop design packages, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant systems for manufacturing and field deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, electrical preferred.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/control drawings and specifications.
• Experience with UL, NEC, NFPA 79 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop design packages with electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and bills of materials adhering to project technical documentation and PowerSecure design standards.
• Mentor junior staff to produce design packages including electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and bills of materials adhering to project technical documentation.
• Develop independently or with the Project Engineering team to produce point-to-point lists.
• Create site-wide drawings to capture system connections.
• Collaborate with System Engineering to produce controls diagrams.
• Coordinate with leadership and Product Management to engineer configurable design standards.
