Job summary

Williams seeks an Electrical Engineer (Senior / Staff) in Houston to lead design and optimization of electrical systems for critical infrastructure, including pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. You will drive Power Innovation initiatives and mentor engineers, shaping engineering standards and practices.

The role emphasizes independence, project leadership from concept through execution, and strong safety/compliance with NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE.

Qualifications

• Staff role requires ABET‑accredited EE degree and 15 years in natural gas, data centers, or related industries.
• Senior role requires ABET‑accredited EE degree and 8 years of experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industry.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure
• Drive Power Innovation initiatives, including automation, real-time monitoring, energy storage, and advanced control systems
• Apply and enhance safety practices, including arc flash mitigation, fault detection, and protection systems
• Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system design for both new construction and upgrades
• Manage engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and business objectives
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE)
• Analyze system performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet operational and business needs
• Mentor and support the development of engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing
• Influence engineering standards, technical strategy, and decision-making (Staff-level expectation)
