Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to expand their background on power plant and industrial facility projects, including retrofit, new generation, renewable energy, and oil & gas facilities. You will join a project team of engineers and designers to design, modify, and analyze electrical systems.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 5+ years in power plant/industrial design, experience with medium/low voltage distribution, and

Qualifications

• A BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required with an emphasis in power systems preferred.
• 5 or more years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design.
• Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare and review functional design drawings, single line, relay, metering, and schematic diagrams; prepare input for 3-D modeling.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations, including auxiliary power system studies, voltage drop, protective relay settings, and arc flash calculations.
• Interface with vendors to prepare bills of material and equipment purchase specifications; provide client recommendations.
