Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Wisconsin is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop medium-voltage power distribution systems, covering 1 kV to 38 kV equipment and protection schemes. You will perform system studies, select components, and guide product validation to meet industry standards.

You will lead CAD work, validate designs, and collaborate across manufacturing and design teams to optimize reliability, safety, and cost.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Experience with power generation, conversion, or distribution equipment.
Experience with medium-voltage power systems (1 kV to 38 kV).
Knowledge of power electronics, protection schemes, and testing.

Responsibilities

Design and develop medium-voltage power circuits and distribution systems.
Support new product development from concept to production release.
Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination studies.
Select and size transformers, switchgear, busbars, cables, and other components.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
Plan and execute electrical product testing and validation.
Ensure EMC/EMI compliance and adherence to UL/IEC/NEC/IEEE/CSA/ANSI/NFPA standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing and product teams to improve manufacturability and reliability.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
