Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead and manage facility electrical engineering projects within our engineering test services organization. You will oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems supporting engines and power systems customers.

This role reports to the engineering manager and operates on a hybrid 3/2 schedule. You will mentor junior engineers, define system requirements, and drive project objectives with

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years experience in electrical and facility control systems.
• U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements.
• 8+ years PLC programming across multiple hardware platforms.
• Experience with Emerson, Allen-Bradley, Phoenix Contact, and Automation Direct.
• Ability to write software using an object-oriented approach with function blocks/add-on instructions; ladder logic proficiency.
• Experience architecting and writing software from scratch.
• Strong safety and quality focus with the ability to work with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and test PLC programs for new and existing equipment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior engineers.
• Define controls system requirements and develop detailed functional specs.
• Lead implementation and testing of new systems with cross-functional teams.
• Support/revise designs using AutoCAD Electrical and create BOMs and test instructions.
• Create detailed operation, maintenance and repair documentation.
