Job summary

Valero seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide leadership and technical expertise for plant electrical systems at the Wilmington Refinery. This exempt, salaried role focuses on safe, environmentally sound, and profitable operation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting with electricians, updating electrical drawings, submitting MOC documents, and driving reliability improvements. On-site work is required; a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of industrial experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher level degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial plant is required.
• Able and willing to work on-site at the Valero Wilmington Refinery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to the refinery on routine daily electrical issues and勧 troubleshoot with Electricians.
• Create and update electrical drawings such as one-line diagrams, motor and breaker schematics, panel schedules, and related drawings.
• Prepare and submit Management of Change (MOC) documentation and champion the change process through to Pre-Startup Safety Review, Startup, and Closeout of the MOC.
• Develop and steward electrical system reliability improvement opportunities, including capital improvement and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Review and approve electrical preventive maintenance test reports in turnaround.
• Coordinate and oversee high voltage switching procedures and ensure adherence to Electrical Safety Policy.
