Job summary

Arcfield in Newport, RI, is seeking a senior electrical/technical engineer to support Navy Photonics Mast systems. The role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and repair of imaging systems on US Navy submarines, leading technician teams, and designing custom test equipment.

You will develop test plans, identify improvements, and provide in-service engineering support across RF, analog, and digital domains.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 5–7 years of experience; or advanced degrees with fewer years.
US Navy or military electronics experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Proven ability to lead teams and resolve complex testing and repair challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate technicians to optimize testing schedules and repair workflows.
Design custom test equipment and technical data packages to improve testing.
Develop test plans, readiness evaluations, and installation procedures.
Provide testing, troubleshooting, repair, and in-service support for Imaging Systems on Navy vessels.
Perform detailed analysis of RF, PCB, and electronic assemblies.
Prototype, debug, and validate hardware designs and test configurations.
Review electrical schematics and TDPs, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews.
Travel up to 10% for off-site installations and certifications.
