Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer II (PE) to provide expert-level leadership on complex commercial projects. You will oversee design, analysis, and construction, guiding teams and ensuring regulatory compliance and high quality deliverables.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage schedules and budgets to deliver milestones on time, with a focus on MEP and fire prevention systems within commercial settings. Raleigh-based hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 10 - 15 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
• Prior experience with MEP and Fire Prevention systems in the commercial sector
• Experience leading large or complex engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical development of engineering projects, providing expert guidance to project teams.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications meeting standards.
• Oversee integration of building systems and ensure cohesive design.
• Provide technical oversight during construction, review submittals, visit sites.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
• Conduct quality control reviews at project milestones for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants across all phases.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations with technical input.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet milestones.
