Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Atlanta is seeking an Electrical Engineer, PE, with 7+ years of hands-on experience to design full electrical systems for large, complex manufacturing facilities.

You will design power distribution, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems; contribute to both greenfield design-build projects and retrofits; collaborate with multi-discipline teams; translate client needs into practical design solutions; and prepare construction drawings and bid documents while

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in lighting, power distribution, emergency backup systems, and fire alarm design.
• Proficiency with design tools such as COMcheck, SKM Power Tools, AGi32, and Visual for modeling and code compliance.
• Experience producing construction documents including electrical plans and wiring diagrams.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing to facilitate cross-discipline coordination.
• Strong NEC knowledge and ability to apply it to complex facilities.
• Proven ability to work with architects, engineers, and clients in collaborative environments.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; ability to translate client requirements into practical designs.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and active PE license.
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork, site surveys, and project support.

Responsibilities

• Support capital projects and implement electrical solutions for clients.
• Design and deliver full electrical systems: power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm.
• Contribute to greenfield design-build projects and retrofits at existing facilities.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to develop integrated facility designs.
• Attend client meetings to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Prepare construction-ready drawings, specs, and documents for bidding and permitting.
• Support proposals and client presentations for new opportunities.
• Travel for site surveys, construction support, startup coordination, and client engagement.
