Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Active PE license in Electrical Engineering required.
• Michigan PE registration or eligibility by hire.
• Minimum 7 years electrical engineering experience with power distribution and lighting design for facilities.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of NFPA 110 and NFPA 99 preferred.
• Healthcare or institutional project experience preferred.
• Ability to work as the primary in-house electrical engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design stamped electrical construction documents for all project phases.
• Perform load calculations and specify service equipment sizes.
• Design interior and exterior lighting, controls, and energy code compliance.
• Design standby/emergency power systems and generators.
• Coordinate fire alarm systems with AHJs and contractors.
• Coordinate low-voltage systems (AV, access control, CCTV) with contractors.
• Prepare system riser diagrams and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Coordinate electrical design within BIM and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate BAS integration with Mechanical Engineering teams.
• Develop electrical specifications and review submittals.
